About NPA Skawina
COMPANY
We are the only Polish company that manufactures aluminium and aluminium alloy wire rods. Our wire rods are used for manufacturing wires and cables. In 2020, we commissioned a state-of-the-art system for manufacturing wire rods from high-strength aluminium alloys for products intended for mechanical and welding purposes. The capacity of our rolling mills amount to 60,000 tons per annum and after the investment project they enable us to manufacture the full range of 1xxx, 2xxx, 3xxx, 4xxx, 5xxx, 6xxx, 7xxx and 8xxx series wire rods.
We are one of the biggest domestic producers of overhead conductors, multi-strand cable cores, class V and VI flexible cables used in the automotive industry, lightning protection wires and wires intended for food-related purposes. We are also producing class I solid cable conductors and flat products.
Mission
Our mission is to focus on innovative solutions. Hence we are executing a series of implementation projects partially co-funded by the National Centre for Research and Development, the effect of which includes new solutions for aluminium wire rods and power cables (low-loss conductor, among others).
STANDARDS
Our products are manufactured based on standards, including European EN, Polish PN, German DIN, American ASTM, Russian GOST or specifications supplied by the Customer. We offer our products in the domestic and foreign markets to buyers from the power, automotive, FMCG and household appliance industries.
EXPERIENCE
We are a company established based on the achievements and experience of Skawińskie Zakłady Metalurgiczne (Skawina Metallurgy Plant) built in 1954. We are developing our activity by utilising the knowledge and experience gained over 67 years of the plant’s existence, combining it with a clear vision of modern utilisation of aluminium’s remarkable capabilities.
INVESTMENTS
We are continuously investing into the development of our machine park. In 2019, we commenced the biggest investment in our company’s history. With considerable support of EU funds, we built and commissioned a state-of-the-art system for the production of wire rods from high-strength aluminium alloys. It consists of melting furnaces and continuous casting and rolling lines. Thereby, we joined the elite group of producers of 2xxx, 5xxx and 7xxx series wire rods, which provided us with new market opportunities.

History
1954
Beginning of construction of Skawińskie Zakłady Metalurgiczne (Skawina Metallurgy Plant) and official opening of the Plant on 20 July 1954.
1963
Commissioning of rolling mill no. 1 and production of the first aluminium wire rods.
2001
Nowoczesne Produkty Aluminiowe Skawina (Modern Aluminium Products Skawina) started its business.
2006
Purchase and assembly of state-of-the-art machinery for the production of overhead cables. Commencement of production of wire rods from a new kind of aluminium alloy (Al 59).
2007
Further purchases of state-of-the-art machinery for the production of aluminium conductors and development of niche products’ manufacturing. Commencement of production of wire rods from a new kind of aluminium alloy (AlZr). Transition to the BORYSZEW Capital Group.
2012
Merger of NPA Skawina S.A. and Boryszew S.A. on 19 December. Establishment of a branch named Boryszew S.A. Oddział Nowoczesne Produkty Aluminiowe Skawina.
2013
Purchase of devices for the manufacturing of flexible cables for the automotive industry.
2016
Purchase of machinery for the commissioning of the Conform line. Beginning of manufacturing of aluminium tubes, class I solid conductors and flat products.
2019
New investment – construction of a state-of-the-art rolling line that meets strict environmental requirements.
2020
Production of the first 5xxx series high-strength alloys on the new rolling line.
